SWSC Status COVID-19 (June 5, 2020)

Dear SWSC players, families and coaches,

We continue to unite as a community to combat the COVID-19 pandemic that has impacted each and every one of us in different ways. We offer our sincere condolences for those who have lost a loved one, friend, or co-worker due to the COVID-19 virus.  We also express our deepest gratitude to those on the front lines, essential workers and their families.

Your SWSC Board of Directors and Coaches continue to monitor state and local government rules and guidance as well look for ways to safely return to the sport of soccer for our 326 players on the field with their team mates, versus virtual coach-directed soccer activities. We are following the same guidelines as the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) and its insurance provider, who continue to adhere to local, state and government regulations regarding contact, group limits, social distancing and return-to-play for soccer sometime this summer. As such, our Spring 2020 season is officially cancelled based upon decisions from ENYYSA and both the Eastern Development Program (EDP) and Capital District Youth Soccer League (CDYSL).

We are exploring our options to provide SWSC on-the-field soccer activities this summer once NY State Phase 4 allows for this to occur. The construct of the training program is being developed by out Directors of Coaching and team coaches and will be at ZERO cost to those registered for the 2019-2020 season.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate these uncharted pandemic events.

Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,

Your SWSC Board of Directors and Club Coaches
