Rec Weather Policy

If there is active thunder and/or lightning, extremely heavy rain, extreme heat or cold (or the Park closes the fields) 45 minutes before the start of a session, the session will be canceled and an email will be sent to everyone. If thunder and/or lightning occur (or the Park closes the fields) within 45 minutes of the start of a session, the session will be canceled and we will try to send an email and post signs. If we start a session and thunder and/or lightning occur, everyone must stop immediately and the rest of the session will be canceled. (Sporting activities may restart if there has been no thunder and/or lightning for 20-30 minutes, but since our session is only 1 hour there would be every little time left.) Coach Decision If there is rain but no thunder and/or lightning (or if there's extreme heat or cold), we leave it up to the coaches of the teams that are schedule to play each other to decide whether to play or not. We do this because there are levels of rain (heat or cold) that are not appropriate for very young players but are fine for older players. Coaches will contact players in the event they decide not play. Parent Decision Always, parents have the final say on whether a player(s) participates in a particular session. No parent should ever feel bad about deciding not to participate on a particular day. We structure the Program with multiple levels of play and our coaches are very creative. Even if several players are missing there will be a fun level of play for the players participating.
